GOLD STAR MOTHERS

Starla Owens, President of the Northern Michigan Blue to Gold Star Mothers, washes the Gold Star Mother statue in Grand Traverse Area Veterans Memorial Park in Traverse City. After washing with soap and water, a protective wax will be applied to the bronze statue, which is the only Gold State Mother statue in the state.
