GERMANFEST DESSERT
From left, Karen Busch, Peggy Cervenka, Joanie Layton and Sue Lahr make Donauwelle Kuchen, a dessert featuring layers of vanilla and chocolate cake, cherries, German buttercream and ganache for Germanfest at Trinity Lutheran Church and School. The group used 9 pounds of butter, 80 eggs, 40 pounds of sugar, 23 cups of whole milk and 10 cups of heavy cream, among other ingredients, to make 5 trays of the dessert.
