STONE SOUP

Traverse City Area Public Schools Glenn Loomis Montessori students add ingredients to a pot of soup during the school's annual Stone Soup Celebration on Thursday. Community members read one of five versions of the story, which involves a hungry stranger convincing a town's residents to share a small amount of their food in order to make a meal for everyone, to groups of students. Students then went outside to place a stone and cut up vegetables in a pot of soup cooking in the school's garden, which they were able to later taste.
