BUILDING A CULTURE OF PEACE
"We don't have to imagine war, but we have to imagine peace. And that is sad," said retired 86th District Court Judge TJ Phillips while speaking in a tent at the Open Space on a rainy Sunday afternoon as Veterans for Peace celebrated its 7th annual Building a Culture of Peace in Traverse City. "We should honor those who fight for peace," said Phillips. On Saturday, the group held a sunrise greeting at Clinch Park and planted a peace pole in Hannah Park, while nearly 50 people gathered in the rain at the Open Space for speeches and songs.
