Shawna Linton strode along Front Street on Wednesday morning as large flakes of snow began to fall on Traverse City. The squal didn't drop enough snow to coat the ground but served as the first warning that winter is coming. "I'm ready for it," Linton said. "I look forward to it." Forecasters for the National Weather Service predict a mix of rain and snow during the next five days. The precipitation will be accompanied by low temperatures in the 30s overnight, bottoming out below freezing by Monday.
