Sugar Plum Apartments resident Ryan Volz has collected signatures in an attempt to stop BATA's plan to remove the bus stop at the apartments at the corner of Harbor Hill Drive and Garfield Road. The next closest bus stop is about two blocks away, he said, and he worries about resident's ability to make it to and from the stop during the winter. Volz said BATA doesn't realize how hard it can make it for elderly or people with special needs to walk home from a distant bus stop. "BATA is discriminating against people that are disabled and people that can't fend for themselves," Volz said. "They don't care what happens to these people because they (BATA administration) don't ride the buses themselves."
