Traverse Bay Area ISD Superintendent Mike Hill, right, holds onto the rain fly of one of the tents he and a group of local community leaders planned to spend the night in at the Open Space Tuesday to raise money for local organizations that help low-income families with heating costs during the second annual Traverse City Sleep Out. Participants planned to spend Tuesday night outside collecting donations, and hoped to raise more than last year's $10,000 for the Grand Traverse Area United Way, Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan, Father Fred Foundation and the Coalition to Keep Michigan Warm.
