Mike Barringer tears off a piece of shrink wrap tape while preparing a customer's sailboat for winter storage at Elmwood Marina on Wednesday. Barringer and his partner Dugan DuBois, both employees of Mobile Marine, said they've wrapped about 50 boats so far this fall, but sailboats with masts such as Wednesday's project can be a little difficult to wrap, Barringer said, because all of the mast's rigging points must be cut around. "The mast makes the job 10 times longer," he said. Barringer said the crew wraps 2-3 boats a day on average, and it took about 540 square feet of shrink wrap to cover the sailboat.
