Hagan Emling, 10, left, of Beulah helps Conner Wenkel, 10, of Beulah make a cape for his "knight-type thing," costume during Friday's Benzonia Public Library's Costume Creation Lab at the Mills Community House. The free event, held in conjunction with the University of Michigan School of Information, allowed participants to create costumes from an assortment of clothes, materials and decorations provided by the library and university through donations and a grant with the help of library staff, School of Information representatives and volunteers.
