CHURCH MOVE
Record-Eagle/Jan-Michael Stump
Workers from J and R Building Movers in Petoskey prepare to move Kewadin United Methodist Church from its 121 year-old foundation to a near spot nearby on Wednesday. The work was done to make the church, which previously had steep stairs at the front entrance, barrier-free, as well as to remedy a musty basement and to update the church's restrooms. The original sanctuary will be moved about 50 feet west, 50 feet north and 6 feet down and connected to the fellowship hall with a 20-foot by 45-foot addition.
