VETERANS REUNION

Jesse Duron, left, of Brentwood, Calif., and Gary Henry of Stockton, Calif share a laugh as 25 Vietnam veterans on a reunion held in Traverse City received lapel pins honoring the 50th anniversary of the war on Thursday at Boone's Long Lake Inn in Traverse City. The veterans of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division traveled from as far as California, Connecticut and Texas, with one Michigan resident, to Traverse City on Tuesday for a reunion they try to hold every year. Lynn O'Brien, director of district affairs for State Senator Mike Kowall of the 15th District, pinned each veteran before the group sat down to dinner. Duron and Henry met during their Army induction, and have been friends ever since.
