Olympic gold medalist swimmer Janet Evans signs an autograph for Natalia Chela, 11, during a visit to Easling Pool to meet and speak with swimmers from TC Breakers, Traverse City Central and Traverse City West Thursday. Evans is in town to speak on swimming for sport, health and safety Thursday evening at the State Theatre for the New Y Campaign, which is working to raise $4 million for a new Y facility on Silver Lake Road. The new building would feature a public swimming pool. Evans, who swam about 6,000 yards at Easling Pool as part of her daily routine, competed in the 1988, 1992 and 1996 Olympics, winning four gold medals and one silver.
