Bill Scharf waits for birds to get caught in nets so he can inspect them for ticks, take measurements and release them after banding them and recording the information at the Chippewa Run Natural Area in Empire. Scharf spends mornings seven days a week collecting the data for the month of May and from August 15 to September 15.
