MEMORIAL DAY FLAGS

Dan Holmes of Traverse City attaches a flag to a post as he and dozens of volunteers arrived around dawn to help raise over 700 American Flags at roadside markers for military veterans in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday morning. The flags are raised and lowered once a year on Memorial Day.
