Xiuying Kong leaves West Hall at Northwestern Michigan College on Wednesday afternoon. The school will issue $7.3 million in bonds to pay for renovations to transform the 53-year-old building into the Innovation Center. The project, a portion of which will be paid for by the state, will about 25,000 square feet of space and renovate about 13,000 square feet into student-centered workspaces, simulation labs, conference rooms and classrooms.
