RAINY DAY
Record-Eagle/Jan-Michael Stump
Members of the Grand Traverse Area Sport Fishing Association and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources place 60,000 Chinook salmon smolts into three pen nets in the Boardman River just downstream from Cass Street in preparation for their release into Grand Traverse Bay, where they will spend several years before returning to the Boardman River to spawn. The pens are placed by the GTASFA and filled with young salmon from the DNR's Platte River State Fish Hatchery.
