The foursome came up with the idea to fight boredom on their spring break and went door-to-door in a section of their Traverse Heights neighborhood Wednesday collecting donations for the Cherryland Humane Society. Neighbors gave the girls blankets, towels, pet food and toys, returnable cans and bottles and sometimes cash for the animal shelter, and in return the girls gave donors thank-you cards and took pictures of them for a collage to be given along with the donations.
