Jason Karle, 4, gets a hand from his father Jason Karle in searching Jack's Creek for living organisms in Jack's Creek during the Grand Traverse Conservation District's River Rangers program, part of its Spring Break Series at the Boardman River Nature Center. Participants hiked on Thursday from the center to Jack's Creek, which flows into the Boardman River just below Sabin Dam, to collect organisms living on the stream's bottom.
