Traverse City Central High School track coach John Lober shovels slush from the orange track surface at the school while Jeff Dean, owner of Old Mission Snow Blowing, shoots 3-foot-deep snow away from the lanes. Lober decided to enlist help from Dean after he realized the snow was so deep on the track that it likely wouldn't melt until weeks into the upcoming spring season. Practices are scheduled to begin Monday, said the veteran coach.
"This is the most snow we've ever had," Lober said. "This is my gauge of winter."
