Rotary of Traverse City held a grand opening of the former coal dock along M-22 on Tuesday, celebrating public access to the area after 80 years of industrial use. The public was invited to suggest uses and names for the spot, learn about some of the plans underway and check out exhibits from the Maritime Heritage Alliance, Inland Seas Education Association, The Watershed Center and the Great Lakes Children's Museum.
