About 15 personnel from three Grand Traverse Metro Fire Department stations respond to a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash Monday morning on U.S. 31 near Three Mile Road. The driver of a Max's Service van was transported to Munson Medical Center with severe injuries, said Fire Chief Pat Parker. The driver of the passenger car was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. "It looked like they got tangled, They collided right behind me," said Kori Baker, of Traverse City. Baker said she saw the crash in her rear-view mirror.
