The Champion, a 39-foot wooden sailboat, heads out onto West Grand Traverse Bay on the final day of a SAIL Champion session through the Maritime Heritage Alliance and Mental Wellness Counseling. SAIL (Success Always Involves Learning) mixes lessons in sailing, leadership and team work skills with therapeutic counseling on a week-long program for at-risk youth ages 12-19.
