TIN CAN TOURISTS
Record-Eagle/Jan-Michael Stump
Amy Smith of Hudsonville sweeps off the picnic table at the Interlochen State Park camp site where she and her husband Todd Smith parked their 1968 Blazon camper for the Tin Can Tourists Centennial Celebration Caravan. The group, which began in 1919, claims the title of oldest and largest vintage trailer club in the world. The event, one of a number of rallies, caravans and events around the country celebrating the group's centennial, began on Monday, June 17, at the Ingham County Fairgrounds. The group then traveled north through Manistee to Interlochen, where the group will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park's south campsite in conjunction with the Michigan State Parks centennial celebration.
