Record-Eagle/Jan-Michael Stump
Veterans and governmental dignitaries turn ceremonial shovels of dirt during Thursday's groundbreaking for the Colonel Demas T. Craw VA Clinic on U.S. 31 South near Chum's Corners in Traverse City. The 22,500 square foot Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic will provide outpatient primary care, outpatient mental health, laboratory specimen collection, home-based primary care, physical therapy, telehealth, and other support services when it opens in 2020. The clinic is named for a World War II U.S. Army Air Forces officer and Medal of Honor recipient from Long Lake Township.
