Maren Byrne, 12, left, of Traverse City and Luke Ratke, 11, of Grand Haven ride their waves to shore while surfing with the Sleeping Bear Xtreme (SBX) Waterman Camp on Friday morning in Frankfort. The Friday surf session wrapped up the ninth year of the week-long camp focused on freshwater pursuits that also include stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, skim-boarding and free-diving, depending on the day's weather.
