CPL LAWLER'S RETURN
Army National Guard Lt. Col Brian Martinus presents the folded American Flag from the casket of Army Corporal Charles Stanley Lawler to his family at Covell Funeral Home in Traverse City on Thursday afternoon. Lawler went missing in action on November 2, 1950 during the Korean War. His remains were among the 55 returned to the United States following a summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, and identified through DNA analysis. Lawler's funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at approximately 10:30 a.m. and travel on State Street, Rose Street and Eighth Streets to Oakwood Cemetery.
