SPECIAL OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY

A.J. Maynard (cq) of Area16, Kalamazoo County, enters the opening ceremonies for the Special Olympics State Winter Games with teammates in a cloud of bubbles Wednesday evening at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. About 800 athletes from around the state will participate in the games, which run through February 8th at the resort, Schuss Mountain at Shanty Creek Resort and Howe Arena.
