Lee Zylstra fishes for perch on Long Lake on Saturday. Zylstra grew up ice fishing on Long Lake, and suggested that people that don't know the area take precautions before going out on the spring-fed lake. "Talk to bait stores, locals, and online forums about ice conditions, Zylstra said. "We took our time getting out here, punching a lot of holes (to check thickness) because you never know, especially on this lake. Even if you see people on the ice, test it yourself."
