Father Ciprian Streza of Archangel Gabriel Orthodox Church of Traverse City carries a cross to be cast into West Grand Traverse Bay during a Blessing of the Waters ceremony at Clinch Marina on Saturday morning. The annual event, held by the Eastern Orthodox Church to celebrate the Epiphany, and re-enacts the baptism of the Lord by submerging a cross three times in water, blessing the congregants and throwing and retrieving the cross by string from West Grand Traverse Bay.
