Mike Cherry with Cupid, a terrier-mix puppy that arrived that morning at the Cherryland Humane Society on Monday. Cherry will be retiring in March from his position as executive director of the Cherryland Humane Society after 26 years at the helm. "I wish everybody could sit in my seat," Cherry said. Cherry said he will miss working with the volunteers and staff that help to give the animals a better life. with "With all the bad in the world today, I wish everybody could sit in my seat," Cherry said. "Here we see all the good." Cherry said while he's retiring from the job, he is looking forward to volunteering at the society.
