PIPER'S PROJECT

Piper Shumar, 11, puts together a big wheel as she and other volunteers with Shumar's Piper's Project This Girl Can assemble over 100 children's bicycles on Sunday at Timber Ridge RV and Recreation Resort in Traverse City. The project was started about 5 years ago by Shumar, who began collecting cans to return for the deposit and purchase bicycles for Toys for Tots. Shumar said the big wheels are the most difficult to assemble.
