"Apparently we weren't helping with the cookies, so we got tossed on tree duty," said Marea (cq) Swaffer (cq) as she and her brother Zach Swaffer (cq) pick out a tree for their family Saturday at Schmuckal Tree Farm in Kingsley. The two are home from Michigan State University and Hillsdale College, respectively. Farm owner Richard Schmuckal said their sales of Christmas trees were up 40 percent this year.
