Brendan O’Donnel of the Traverse Tall Ship Co. labors to place a Christmas tree and lights at the top of the Manitou schooner at the Harbor West Marina on Grand Traverse Bay Monday morning. Company owner Dave McGinnis said placing a tree at the top of the tallest mast on a schooner is a long-time tradition “and it’s fun, too.”
