Participants in the international event called "Unsilent Night" stroll on the grounds of the Grand Traverse Commons in Traverse City on Friday. Event-goers started at Left Foot Charley's, which hosted the event. They carried boom boxes, each making a different sound, to create a musical sound sculpture. The event is modeled on the one created by composer Phil Kline, who debuted the first "Unsilent Night" in New York in 1992.
