The annual Nagasaki Candle Float was held Monday along the Boardman River in downtown Traverse City. Over 60 people gathered near the Sarah Hardy Farmer's Market area to share their thoughts and memories of war, peace and justice in remembrance of the World War II bombings of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and all victims of war. The group then floated candles in bags they decorated themselves.
