SCIENCE GIRLS ROCK

Angelica Barnes, 15, of New York, helps Ainsley Hoffman, 8, strain a solution into a beaker during a Science Girls Rock class on extracting DNA from a strawberry for students in The Children's House summer daycamp on Tuesday in Traverse City. Barnes, who said she loves science and teaching, designed the lesson, and one on magnetism she will teach on Thursday to present during the camp's science week.
