SWIM FOR GT BAY

Competitors enter the water for the start of Saturday's Swim for Grand Traverse Bay, a two-mile open water swim in West Grand Traverse Bay from Greilickville Harbor Park to the volleyball courts near the Open Space. Sixty swimmers and about 30 support and safety paddlers participated in the event, which raised money for Watershed Center Grand Traverse Bay. Chris Thompson of Dexter and Lizzy McKenna of Milan were the men's and women's non-wetsuit winners, respectively, while Jake Flynn and Heather Jordan, both of Traverse City, were the respective men's and women's wetsuit category winners.
