City streets department supervisor Bob Becker pushes heaps of sand a debris into the gutter along the north edge of U.S. 31 near downtown Traverse City. Becker and a crew worked Friday to remove deep piles of sand and dirt from sidewalks and boulevards that were left there when snow piles melted.
