HEART PILLOWS
Record-Eagle/Jan-Michael Stump
Traverse City West Middle School student Olivia Denoyer, 12, stitches the heart-shaped pillow she and classmates in Rebecca Walters' Creative Living class are sewing for cardiac rehabilitation patients at Munson Medical Center for a service learning project that coincides with the class's sewing lesson. The pillows are held by patients to their chests when they cough, which helps ease the pain from surgery.
