CENTENNIAL PAINT JOB
Record-Eagle photo/Jan-Michael Stump
From left, Bill Biggar of Traverse City, Ron Ridge of Williamsburg and Fritz Barratt of Glen Arbor talk while checking out the new paint job on one Air Station Traverse City's MH-65D Dolphin rescue helicopter as part of the centennial celebration of Coast Guard aviation, which began in 1916 when Coast Guard officer Elmer Stone first reported to flight school. The paint scheme is a throw back to the original Dolphin paint scheme, and is one of the eight helicopters, of 102 in service, painted with a commemorative scheme. This model will be repainted in about four years when it undergoes its regular maintenance service.
