Ben Hoxsie tries casts into a 60-foot casting pond set up by representative from fly rod manufacturer Sage outside The Northern Angler in Traverse City, which hosted a demo day featuring equipment demonstrations and refreshments on Thursday in preparation for the opening of trout season this Saturday. "I started out fly fishing with my dad," said Hoxsie, who says he's more of a multi-species fisherman now. "He'd give me piggy back rides while he was fishing."
