From left, auxiliary crew member Connor Vliet, Second Mate Alexandr Nist and Relief Captain Lily Heyns guide one of the Tall Ship Manitou's two 76-foot masts into place on Monday at the Discovery Pier in Traverse City. The masts were removed last fall to redo the decks and bowsprit on the 114-foot replica of an 1800s cargo schooner that is operated by the Traverse Tall Ship Company.
