"We're the unofficial kick-off," to spring, said Doug Saul as he and Lee Kessler, left, of Advanced Awnings in Acme install sections of awning at the Sara Hardy Farmer's Market in Traverse City on Tuesday morning. The workers planned to install about half of the 13 12-foot by 24-foot sections Tuesday before heading to Mackinac Island to install awnings on the Grand Hotel. They plan to return to finish the market awnings before its May 6 opening.
