Cadets watch as The State of Michigan departs from Northwestern Michigan College's Great Lakes Campus Wednesday evening for the Great Lakes Maritime Academy's annual spring cruise with 52 cadets and 10 faculty/crewmembers. The trip will sail on lakes Michigan, Huron, Erie and Superior between now and June 28, with a restocking stop in Traverse City on June 3. The cruise is part of the training each maritime cadet must complete.
