Firefighters battle a blaze on the second story of a unit at the Village Glen Apartments complex off Lafranier Road Sunday evening. Crews from both the Grand Traverse Metro and Traverse City fire departments responded. Metro Chief Patrick Parker said no one was injured in the blaze, which destroyed an apartment. Crews believe the fire began on the apartment's porch, though the exact cause wasn't yet determined Sunday evening. A firewall between the burned apartment and other units prevented significant damage to the rest of the building, Parker said.
