The Saskatoon berries Rick Cross grows on his Northport farm are heavily cultivated in Canadian provinces such as Manitoba and Saskatchewan; they're also called serviceberries in the eastern Canadian provinces. The berries are heavy in antioxidents, and are good in pies and jams, but don't need acidic soil like blueberries.
