Mia Kuschell, Lauren Kuschell, center, and Mike Powers, of SEEDS, use their hands to spread clay as they help construct a stone pizza oven Saturday in the Grand Traverse Area Children's Garden. Volunteers used a clay mixture to build up a dome on the pizza oven behind the Traverse Area District Library. The oven will feature a 27 inch inside diameter area to bake pizzas topped with ingredients grown in a kitchen garden. Volunteers started building the pizza oven base in July. The oven will be used in the Children's Garden Roots to Mouth program.
