WATER SCREENING

Kirk Henderstein, left, of Traverse City waits for Jessica Alpers, a technician from the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program, to test a sample of water he brought in for screening on Saturday at the Boardman River Nature Center. The screening was sponsored by MAEAP and The Grand Traverse Conservation District, and checked for nitrates and nitrites in the water. Participants could receive information on professional testing services to go for further tests if they desired.
