ROLLING TAPS

People watch from a distance as Ken Bloomquist plays the last of 16 renditions of "Taps," performed by members of the Northport Community Band, stretching across the village and ending in the Leelanau Township Cemetery in honor of Memorial Day on Monday. The "Rolling Taps," was performed by 17 musicians on instruments including euphonium, French horn and trumpets, and held in place of Northport's traditional Memorial Day ceremonies, which were cancelled due to the COVID-19 virus.
