Four Blue Angels Boeing F/A-18 Hornet planes speed by spectators during Saturday afternoon's National Cherry Festival Air Show over Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City. The planes can travel as close as 18-inches apart from wing tip-to-wing tip. The fleet was made in 1982 and each plane can use about 8,000 pounds of gasoline an hour. The Blue Angels will perform at 35 different events this year.
